What's Happening Around The World
Blake Shelton was just being himself.
Two country singers walk into a bar. Have you heard this one?
Prepare yourself for a bit of a lesson in the science of concert audio. Brad Paisley just explained why the pit at his concerts is no place for a baby.
Maybe it's Little Big Town's new single "Day Drinking." Maybe it's the fact they're completely adorable. Maybe it's the fact they sing like angels.
With temperatures in the mid-80s, not a cloud in sight and country music to boot, the Mtn. Dew CMT Summer Concert Series was a hit before it ever began.
For nearly 40 years, Tom Petty has played rock 'n' roll's everyman. He was never a poet like Dylan or a sex symbol like Springsteen. In fact, his ass would appear on exactly zero album covers.
Country music is full of great party songs, but sometimes you want to hear something to lift you up in a way that trucks and beer can't.
It seems like, for so many years, country artists would always have the same list of influences: Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and both Hank Williams and Hank Williams Jr.
Classic rocker Tom Petty falls into line at No. 22 on CMT All-Time Top 40: Artists Choice, a list of the most influential artists in history, chosen by country stars themselves.
Never underestimate the power of positive thinking.
